Homelessness hits for many reasons. Some are as simple as
the loss of a job or health, some as complex as the passage of poverty from
generation to generation. Whatever the causes, homelessness now threads through
the yoke of our nation, and Tracy, California is no exception. The fabric
is unraveling. The human cost is devastating, so is the ultimate cost to
society.
Since 1988, McHenry House has earned a reputation for re-establishing hope in the lives of thousands. We have provided a path to self-sufficiency through the teaching basic life skills, counseling, support, direction and employment guidance.
- Our services are provided regardless of race, age, creed, religion, national origin, disability or marital status.
- Currently we operate in Tracy, California and are able to provide housing and support for up to 6 families.
- McHenry House Tracy Family Shelter is a 501(c)(3) corporation recognized by the Internal Revenue Service and qualified to grant receipts for tax-deductible donations. McHenry House is governed by a board of directors and is audited annually.
- Donations of clothing, household goods and furniture are marketed through 2nd Time Around provides low cost goods to those in need, and a source of income for the shelter.
